Permitted modifications.

  Engine.

Rover V8. 2 valves per cylinder. 3528cc

Bore: 88.90mm. Stroke: 71.00mm.

Dry sump oil lubrication system is permitted.

Ignition.

Standard Lucas system or Lumenition Optronic

Carburation.

Standard SU’s or Weber DCOE’s.

Pierburg or Lucas fuel injection. 

Gearbox.

5 Speed Rover unit.

Rear Axle.

4HA. Fully floating 5 linked axle.

Plated Salsbury LSD.

Suspension.

Front.

Mc Pherson strut with rose jointed bottom arms.
Adjustable platforms are permitted.

Rear.

Coil Spring. Telescopic shock absorbers.

Brakes.

Master cylinders.

The fitting of a dual master cylinder or any other type of device providing a simultaneous action on all four wheels and divided action on two wheels is permitted, providing the original brake pedal and pivot point are used.

The remote brake bias adjuster must be positioned so that it cannot be adjusted by either the driver or co-driver when normally seated in the car.

Front. 

Standard disc or AP Racing vented discs and calipers.
AP CP 2361 (Forestry) or AP CP 2271 (Monte Carlo) 4 pot brake calipers

Rear.

Standard drum or AP Racing solid disc and calipers.
AP brake calipers CP 2383 or CP 2577.

Wheels and Tyres.

13″ or 15″ Diameter. Rim width and Tyre size as per MSUK NCR’s..

Roll Cage.

There are a number of roll cages available for the TR7.

The roll cage can either be welded/bolted or both. The welded in version may be incorporated into the screen and roof pillars as was done in period. Roll cage Triangulation to the front suspension towers is allowed.  Particular attention must be paid to the positioning of the rear back stays. The bars must be straight and may either pick up the rear shock absorber turret or continue down to the rear chassis sections.

General.

Fibre glass bonnet or boot lid.

The bonnet may be modified to accomodate extended louvered vents.

Composite side windows.   

Bumpers must be fitted.                                                                  

Alloy centrally mounted replacement petrol tank or FIA specification FT3 Safety fuel cell.
