Permitted modifications as per the Homologation papers.


998cc,  1275cc.

The ‘A’ Plus block is permitted.
The ‘A’ Plus is identified by the strengthening webbing visible on the front of the block below the distributor mounting hole.

A crankshaft with C-shape counterbalance webs is not permitted.

Cylinder Heads.

Arden 8 Port cylinder heads
12G940 casting 1275cc cylinder heads.

Electronic ignition.

Lumenition Optronic replacement system.


Single Weber or Delorto. Split Weber configuration is permitted. Twin 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 S U´s
(Not later H I F type)


Three or Four syncromesh.
A dog engagement gearbox is permitted.
Limited slip differential. Straight cut drop gears. 

The starter motor must be of the inertia type. NOT pre engaged. The period modification was to fit a 10 tooth pinion as opposed to the 9, this gave a greater turn speed of the engine.


Front. Minifin brake drums. Solid 7.5 or 8.4 inch brake disc. Rear: Cast Iron or Minifin brake drums.

Tandem master cylinder. Adjustable brake pedal box. As long as it cannot be adjusted by driver or navigator when normally seated. The KAD adjustable pedal box assembly is acceptable.
The later Rover Mini assembly which incorporates an in line servo is also allowed


The original 2 bolt/stud tower subframe may be replaced by the later single large bolt type
Front. Adjustable Hi Lo´s. Solid negative camber bottom arms. Adjustable tie bars. (Not rose joints)
Rear.  Adjustable Hi Lo´s. Non adjustable camber brackets.
If adjustable camber brackets are used, they must be set and then welded in that position.
Rear anti/roll bar.

Wheels and Tyres.

Ten or Twelve inch wheels. Tyres as per MSUK Blue book


Fibre glass bonnet or boot lid. Composite side windows.

Front and rear bumpers must be fitted.

Alloy doors or skins, centrally mounted replacement petrol tank.

Twin Steel petrol tanks.
